IK Multimedia VST3 plugins are wrongly responding to incoming MIDI messages

It has come to our attention that at least one VST3 plugin from IK Multimedia, their “TR5 Opto Compressor”, is “leaking” MIDI.

IK Multimedia Opto Compressor VST3 plugin is leaking MIDI

What this means is that even though that plugin has indicated that it does not accept incoming MIDI, it will in fact still respond to MIDI messages and convert them into parameter messages, which will then cause the plugin’s parameters to be changed by mistake.

We have confirmed this issue and created a workaround for it that is available with GP 4.5 or later.

We do not know if any other IK Multimedia plugins have this problem and we have not seen this issue with any other VST3 plugin that we have tested.
